Het lesprogramma bestond uit een inleiding met plaatjes, ornamenten ontwerpen en tekenen, de ontwerpen op kleitegels overzetten, kleiafdrukken maken in ornamentmallen, gipsafgietsels maken van de gezichten van de jongeren, deze afdrukken in klei en monteren op de tegels, mallen gieten van eigen gemaakte ornamenten en die weer afdrukken.
Vaak wilden de jongeren langer doorwerken dan de les duurde, ze vonden dat deze lessen voortgezet zouden moeten worden en zelfs was het: de leukste les van het hele schoolprogramma volgens sommigen.
The teaching programme consisted of an introduction with pictures, sessions designing and drawing decorations, the transfer of the designs to clay tablets, making clay imprints in ornament moulds, making plaster casts of the young people’s faces, transferring these imprints to clay and mounting them on the tiles, casting moulds of the decorations that they had made, and printing them.?The young people often wanted to carry on working after the end of the lesson, and said they wanted the lessons to be continued. Some even said this was the best lesson in their entire school curriculum.
